She-Ra, Princess of Power
Also known as She-Ra, P of P. This was my first animation writing job. I got hired on staff at Filmation, working with Joe Straczynski, Larry DiTillio and Robert Lamb.
Arthur Nadel was producer and head Story guy. He was a really cool person to work for; of course I then expected a great working environment everywhere I worked. Not always the case.
Just when I thought I was out...
In 2007, Andy Mangels recruited me for interviews for the DVD box set of She-Ra he was producing. Who could refuse? He borrowed the scripts, storyboards and & other stuff I had. I just got them back. Here are five episodes I wrote:
"The Peril of Whispering Woods" - Shadow Weaver discovers an ancient potion that can kill the plants in Whispering Woods and counter the magic that keeps the Horde out. However, on one of the raids of the Rebel's camp, Horde Prime's son Prince Zed is taken hostage and realizes just how badly the Horde treats people. He forces Hordak to stop the destruction of the woods on account of his father's wrath. |

|
"A Loss for Words" - Adora and Bow go to a village to try and convince potential Rebels to join them in the fight for freedom. However, Hordak gets word of this and sends Shadow Weaver to magically steal their voices and capture Adora. Though she fails to capture Adora, Shadow Weaver does take her voice...preventing Adora from transforming into She-Ra. |

"The Mines of Mondor" - Prince Hazaar, son of King Duplis of Erelandia, is sent by the Horde to the Mines of Mondor on planet Kyrtis. Can the Rebels rescue him? |

"Book Burning" - Adora and Bow visit a school in Northland, to tell the children how Etheria was a peaceful place before the Horde invaded it and took over. One boy, Corey, accuses them of lying, believing that the Horde are a peaceful government and the planet's rightful rulers. Just then, Northland is invaded by the Horde themselves, who steal all the school's books for a book burning ceremony, with the intention of replacing them with books depicting the Horde as the rightful rulers of Etheria. |

"Birds of a Feather" - Red Eye, Kowl's evil cousin, offers his services to Hordak. Hordak accepts when he discovers that Shadow Weaver can enable Red Eye to read Kowl's mind if the bird brings the witch some of his cousin's feathers. When Red Eye does so, Kowl leaves the Rebellion believing he's a threat to his friends; but the bigger threat is the Valley of the Lost, which awaits him around the corner... |
